Those days ...

There are those days ... those days .... well, I think some days could be a lot better! Creating these pages made my thinking wandered to nicer subjects ... making my day better:-))
A short post to show off two journal pages: one illustrating someone you love or someone dear to you since it is the season of gratitude. Any media that resonates and in any style (traditional, abstract or symbolic).

Well, in fact the page is orientated horizontally. So when bind in a book the page will be as:

The second page is about stripes. The prompt says: It has stripes. Etc.... that brought me to the idea to maker her wear strips☺

Media: card board, acrylic paints, acrylic paint dabbers, gesso, magazine, prisma colour pencils, chipboard letters and stars, white gelpen, Copic multiliner, wooden hearts, gem.

Believing is only the beginning...

Fairy dust for Tania☺

Several media were used on the pages I posted. Tom bow markers, Stampin' Up markers and acrylic painting, but also inkpads. For the journaling I used either Copic multiliner, East Indian Ink or a metallic brush marker, (DIY) glimmer mist, stencils (even a home made stencil!), rubber stamps and (flower) gems. I created the black spots with East Indian Ink. There may be glitterglue on some pages or Copic Spica pens and Uni Signo white gelpen used. Sometimes I'll make up the quotes or google for some inspiration and make up my own quote. A good source for quotes is Yogi Tea. Each teabag has a quote and the quotes are quite inspiring.

We're heading towards another week. I guess Australia started Monday already☺ Wishing you good week full of energy:-D

Earrings and my dream dollie

Yesterday I promised I would post pictures of the earrings and the sketch/drawing of the dream dollie I created. It is late so there is a chance the pictures are of less quality. But I do want to post this, unless of course the quality is too bad:-D

I was asked to join a small Christmas market. I think I'll join for fun. To get in the mood I created these earrings.

This dollie is drawn in Alis art journal in the Flower Fairy Round Robin. Alis journal is very beautiful; the cover is sewn and the fabric she used is very nice. Wouldn't colour make her look great?

How could I forget?

I forgot to post about these art journal pages I did for the monthly swap @ milliande.ning.com and the November pages I did for the swaps I host @ swap-bot.com. How could I forgot? I did had some busy days: homework, exams, preparing for my journey to Suriname and helping my daughter to prepare for her internship and journey in and to Suriname. A lot to think about and a lot to prepare for. And that's the moment when I forget the things I do in between☺

Once I went with my daughters to an Halloween activity. It was really good, scary and it was very funny. We enjoyed it a lot and we still refer to our Halloween experience. I like Halloween and I love the Halloween colours and I am so proud of these pages, the background colours. These are my first Halloween pages EVER!! Yayyy, so satisfied with them and the receiver is so happy with these pages .... blush .... :-))
Acrylic paints is used the most on these two pages. With rubber stamps I created the footsteps of an animal and the dancing ant. With my Cricut expression I cut out the spider, the pumpkin, the bats, the witch on the broom and the spider web. The spider is hanging down on a piece of ribbon. With my white Signo gelpen I created the face of the tree and the eye of the witch.

Prompt: Hallowe'en Creatures - Create a journal page incorporating a traditional or invented spooky character. Old Hollywood horror may be a starting place.

Prompt: Create a page that incorporates an element that is interactive and moves. Consider flaps, doors, inserts or wheels. Utilize two or more of the following colours in your design: bat wing black, jack-o-lantern orange, witch's purse purple, harvest moon yellow, zombie green.

Here under: my attempt to let you see the movable spider. Scary??

On thse pages I used paintdabbers. Then I added a layer of different colours of pastels to create a white kind of background. I also used a stencil and modelling paste to create the rose (or is it a tulip?). This gives the rose a 3D effect. A rose since the poem is the famous poem of Robert Burns: A Red, Red Rose.
A long time ago I selected this poem for my English literature school subject. I had to know all about the poems I selected and I also had to unravel the poem.I loved this poem and still do!
Pleawe enjoy with me☺

A Red, Red  Rose              -                  Robert Burns
1794

O my Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
O my Luve's like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' 'twere ten thousand mile!

I'm back home!

It feels so good to be back home. At the same time I would like to support my daughter in Suriname a bit longer ...., but she has to do it by herself now. And she can!! Monday I started to make some earrings; so did I yesterday. Pretty earrings, not difficult at all. I'll make pictures today to post. Will be continued. I also made a art journal page for a swapper. She never received her page from her partner, so I angel. It is for the swap we did in October on swap-bot. The prompt: "Describe a place you've never been before, where would you go and why?". Again I created a page about Asian culture. I would like to visit one of these countries and I don't know why exactly, but Taiwan is the first on my traveling list. And it is not that I would visit Taiwan next year or the year after!? But isn't it good to dream about it and hoping once to be able to visit this country? YES!!!

I used different mediums and an old 5x7 inch page, which already had a base acrylic layer. Caran Dache neocolor watersoluble crayons, watercolour pencils, Posca acrylic markers, dip pen, Copic opaque white, etc. were used.

The outcome:

It was a bit hard to fall asleep and I used some minutes to create a page in one of the Round Robins. I made a sketch and later draw the dream doll. Love it! Picture of this will also be made and I'll blog about it. Will be back:-)
