Every color of paint

Another postcard using mixed media, but on this postcard it is all about paint. That is why I used acrylic paints. As I woke up this morning I had this technique in my head. I started with card board, took Van Beijsweijck gesso, Folkart acrylic paint (blue rivage and blue ribbon) to add to the card board. The Van Bleijsweijck gesso is a terrible quality, very watery and I always end up with a layer way too thin. Even a second or third, fourth layer does not do the job, but okay I just added one layer this morning, since I'm not in the mood to do multiple layers. I added the gesso with a gesso brush and with a brayer I added the acrylic paints. A very beautiful background was created;))

These postcard are 4x6" art journal pages as well! I like using mixed media to create my own little art pieces.

I recycled a business envelope to make the postcard sturdy. I added a postcard image on the back of the postcard using a postcard rubber stamp.

From this background

to this postcard:)

Handmade Bookmark & Tea

I've received some decorated tags in a swap and I will use one of these decorated tags and make it to a bookmark. I will add an owl to it. The owl is stamped using Hema black ink pad and a Hero Arts wooden owl stamp. I coloured the owl with copic markers and I added some glitter to the eyes of the owl using At you Spica ~ melon (green), lemon (yellow) and pink. For he teas I made come sachets using designer card stock. All went in a handmade envelope.

Handmade envelope

Put some "giltter" on it!

i added gesso and acrylic paints here and there. this background is a mix of mixed media and it is me just playing around;) it is autumn/fall, but Mother Nature is sending a message since the SUN is very much up and the temperature is higher. and yes, they are spraying like their mad, but it seems as if if does not work anymore. the rays of Mother SUN goes through their fake clouds. i am grateful for that! so we don't have a Autumn/Fall as we used to have. i enjoy this temperature a lot:))

so that is why my art journal page is in a fall theme, but I added a snow flake on this page symbolizing what fall was since we aspect snow flakes here and there the pollution is affected Mother Nature and Mother Nature is cleaning up! i love all work of Mother Nature!!

i cut the snow flake with the cricut expression @ 2". then I added white embossing power on the versamark ink layer. while the layer is still warm I added more versamark layer and immediately su diamond on it. i finished it using the heat gun to let it all stick. to protect this layer of glitter i covered the glitter with 3d laquer. to finish the art journal page or postcard i added some snow flakes here and there and also heat embossed these with stampin' glitter. oh, and a little text also added to the postcard. let's take a look at the postcard:)

Dip nib pen or brush letter

My attempt to calligraphy and to use one of my dip pens, the Nikko G. I need to practice a lot, lot more:)) The Nikko G made the job easier, sure because the black paper isn't a special quality of paper. I had a hard time with other dip pens. Sometimes the nib got stuck on the paper. The paper is copy paper of a simple chinese brand and weights 80 grams. You see this paper on the inside of the card. Nikko G made the writing on this paper easier for me. I like the flow of the Nikko G dip pen:))

The envelope is handmade with the same copy paper (black). I did the swirls also with the Nikko G. The NIkko G didn't had difficulties to make the curls. As I mention the paper is copy paper, but the Nikko G moved easily on the paper while making the swirls. The paper did feel like thin paper while I was witing on it. Lucky me, I wouldn't be encouraged to start all over again if it all went wrong!
