Gorjuss girl postcard #5

I consider handmade postcards either as small scrapbook projects, art journaling pages or (mixed media) paintings. I also combine art forms. You can't go wrong with it. I don't have a preference; I just go along as how I feel at the moment of making the project and enjoy creating at the fullest.

The plan was to add a paper flower to the right corner, but I forgot to look for a "suitable" paper flower. I may get and add the flower later, if I remember to do so. I then have to think about taking another picture to add to this blog post. Wouldn't it be awesome to see how different the ATC will look when added just one embellishment?

I have to think about this extra step, though, so I hope I'll remember it. Sigh.... to be continued!

Stamping with leaves

On this technique I take leaves from different flowers that are still soft & pliable. To make my ATC background, I rub the vein side of the leaf on a stamp pad. On a light sheet of card stock, I press the leaf onto the card stock. This is how I created a background for this ATC.

I used two different leaves, a rose leave and another broad, curly leaf from a lovely soft lila flower, but I don't know the name of this flower. Leaves are stamped using SU stampin' pads ~ close to cocoa and really rust. Close to cocoa has a warmer tint and I like the really rust as it brings the background to life. And I also like how the rose leaf in really rust ink partly overlays the broader leaf in close to cocoa ink. Awesome!

To enjoy the background I limited embellishments, etc. We want to enjoy the beauty of the background, don't we:))

I'll take a picture of the lovely soft lila flower later and add the photo to this blog post as a reminder to which leaves I used. I hope I don't forget to do that!

The curly leaf is from this flower.

Background stamping

For this technique I stamped on a standard size ATC with a background stamp. On top of my backgroundI stamped a silhouette with oval border on the ATC. I just made sure the background shows on my ATC & then added some wooden embellishments to it to finish it.

I've noticed that using different colours of ink pads (or inks) give dept to the ATC. You can see that I used SU stampin' pad ~ really rust for the background. The silhouette and the oval doily are stamped with SU stampin' pad ~ close to cocoa. I also ink embossed the edges with the close to cocoa stampín' pad as a finishing touch and as I most of the time do with my art works. This ATC is lovely:-D

Gorjuss challenge #2

For this swap series we are to take a gorjuss girl of our choice, and alter her so she fits the theme. Theme: fairy tales. I went for "little red riding hood" using gorjuss girls rubber stamp "little red". She had apples in her basket, but I'm sure their was an apple in there too😂

Her dress is paper pierced. Her cape is coloured with copic markers and finecolour markers. The base is white card stock stamped to create a background.

Pocket letters for beginners

The theme for this pocket letter is: you. I like to colour, so I made the pocket letter all about colouring. I had some coloured images and I had to colour some more. I added a letter and some goodies to the pockets.

Card Sharks ~ card sketch #6

A tall and skinny card based on a card sketch from Mojo card Monday. I left out the bow, because there isn't a lot of space left between the ribbon and the card border and it would be too tight if I would squeeze it in between.

Tall & skinny indeed:))
